Meals of Hope

Randall will share with us How Meals of Hope Works:  Let’s feed Oklahoma in 2023!! The Problem:● More than 500,000 Oklahomans are food insecure● 60% of students participate in the Free/Reduced Breakfast and Lunch Program● 1 in 5 children face hunger every day● Fortified, healthy, shelf-stable food is always in great need  The Solution:● Host a meal packing event with Meals of Hope!● Meals of Hope is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2007● We have 5 different meals to choose from that are fortified with vitamins, minerals, and protein● Our meals have been developed for the American palate and they taste great ● Meal packing events are a great way to foster teamwork, encourage volunteerism, gain positive public relations, help the community and HAVE FUN! The Event: ● 100 volunteers can pack 50,000 meals in 2 hours ● Sponsor organizations arrange a date, packing location and volunteers ● Sponsors make arrangements to cover the cost of the meal ingredients at around 35¢/meal ● We send the ingredients and equipment directly to your packing location ● We live in Norman, Oklahoma and will come in person to help with set-up, volunteer training, running the event, and clean-up ● Meals are picked up by organizations that distribute it in our community to hungry Oklahomans.
