Douglas Samuels
FBI

Douglas Samuels was an agent with the FBI for 25 years and was the bank robbery coordinator for 8 years. He will give an overview of the FBI and share some bank robbery and white collar crime stories.

Douglas grew up in Corsicana, Texas, a small town 50 miles south of Dallas on Interstate 45.  Douglas is a very serious individual, his favorite color is blue, and he is a Libra!  Douglas enjoys long walks on the beach and gazing at the sunset.  Unlike Douglas’ brother who graduated from Corsicana High School as Valedictorian of his class, attended Rice University, and went on to became a world renowned medical doctor, or Douglas’ sister who graduated third in her High School class, graduated from The University of Texas in three years with honors, and earned an MBA from Texas A & M University; Douglas’ uncle often said the only way to get Douglas out of High School would be to burn down building!  Douglas did graduate from Corsicana High in 1976, without honors.  Douglas went on to attend one of the most academically prestigious colleges of the country, Texas Tech University in beautiful Lubbock, Texas.   (In reality Douglas’ SAT scores were so low Tech was the only college that would accept him.)  Douglas graduated Texas Tech in 1980, with a degree in Finance and a minor in Real Estate.  Douglas then went back to Corsicana to operate a family clothing business with his father for eleven years.  Douglas entered on duty with the FBI on February 9, 1992.  Douglas has worked White Collar Crime, Foreign Counter Intelligence, and Violent Crime.  When Douglas retired from the FBI on October 31, 2016, he was the Bank Robbery Coordinator and Federal Prison Liaison for the Oklahoma City Division.  Douglas is currently an investigative Agent with the Office of the Attorney General and is a Task Force Officer with the FBI on a Public Corruption Task Force.
