Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Laura Sikes has been director for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Oklahoma at the Oklahoma State Department of Education since the program began there in 2021. Prior to her work with OSDE, she held roles as a public librarian and library manager in OKC, taught middle school English, and managed volunteer programs at various non-profits in central Oklahoma.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is an early childhood literacy program that is partially sponsored in our state by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Through Imagination Library, any child under the age of 5 can receive a book by mail each month in order to encourage families to engage with their children around reading before they enter kindergarten. We are so thrilled to partner with the Metropolitan Library System to ensure this wonderful program is available for children and families in Oklahoma City.
